The New Year is quickly sneaking up on us. It’s hard to believe that a week from now we will be celebrating 2015. Already I’m starting to feel nostalgic for 2014. For me, it was a year full of books. I devoured nearly 100 novels, plays, biographies, graphic novels, and audio books. Despite all the reading I did, it was pretty easy to narrow down my favorite picks for this year. A couple books were sent to me for review, but most books I read courtesy of the library.
- The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion – A man’s search for his perfect match.
- Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel – A cunning man makes his way in Tudor England.
- Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon – Two teens fight evil and discover love in a magical land. (see my review here)
- Love and Other Foreign Words by Erin McCahan – A girl learns about love while trying to stop her sister’s wedding. (see my review here)
- Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling – A giggle fest about life and Hollywood.
- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – Two teens battling cancer fall in love.
- Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple – A woman goes missing, and her daughter tries to find her.
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – A man accused of murder insists he is innocent.
- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – A coed writes fan fiction while juggling family drama and first love.
- The Promise of a Pencil: How an Ordinary Person Can Create Extraordinary Change by Adam Braun – A story about making a difference and building a for-purpose organization.
